More detail about the role We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our dynamic Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) team in North Devon. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide specialist, patient-centered care to individuals diagnosed with upper GI cancers, including oesophageal and gastric cancers, and hepatobiliary cancers. You will join a well-established and supportive team consisting of two Band 6 support nurses, a Patient Navigator, and the Lead CNS. Working collaboratively, the team is committed to delivering high-quality, holistic care across the entire patient pathway from initial diagnosis through treatment, recovery, and, where appropriate, palliative care. As an Upper GI CNS, you will play a key role in coordinating care, offering expert clinical advice, and supporting patients and their families during challenging times. You will act as a clinical leader and patient advocate within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, education, audit, and the implementation of evidence-based practice. This role is ideal for a nurse with substantial experience in oncology, gastrointestinal, or surgical nursing who is passionate about making a difference and driving continuous improvement in patient care.
