Nottingham City Council’s Greenspace and Natural Environment team is proud to manage our city’s amazing greenspaces - from vibrant parks and peaceful nature reserves to the green corridors that connect our communities. Greenspace Development Officer

Salary: £36363 – £39152 per annum (Grade G) | Permanent | Full Time

Are you wanting to play a key part in delivering and helping shape the parks, nature reserves and greenspaces that breathe life into Nottingham’s neighbourhoods?

We’re looking for a creative, committed and community-focused Greenspace Development Officer to help us deliver the city’s ambition for greener, happier, healthier Nottingham.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the day-to-day care of parks, playgrounds and greenspaces across the city
  • Writing and delivering Green Flag Management Plans
  • Managing contractors, repairs and greenspace improvements
  • Collaborating closely with residents, volunteers, and community groups to support and deliver greenspace development initiatives.
  • Securing funding and delivering community-led development projects
  • Designing and delivering compelling social media campaigns
  • Championing sustainability, biodiversity and inclusive access for all

Who we’re looking for

You might have experience in landscape design, park management, environmental planning or community development. You don’t need to tick every box. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about the value of greenspace in people’s lives
  • Great with people and confident leading engagement with diverse communities
  • Experienced at juggling multiple projects and deadlines
  • Skilled at writing plans, managing budgets and working with contractors
  • Comfortable using digital tools and social media to communicate and share progress
  • Motivated, organised and ready to make a real difference
