Make a Difference Every Day – Lead with Purpose in Mental Health Care
At Bath & North East Somerset Council, our mission is simple yet powerful: to improve people’s lives. We’re looking for a passionate, forward-thinking leader to join our Older Age Community Mental Health Team – a team that’s transforming how we support older adults with complex mental health needs and dementia. If you’re ready to lead with compassion, drive innovation, and champion person-centred care, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
Do you want to…
Be part of an innovative and enthusiastic integrated mental health team?
Deliver high-quality services that support older adults with complex mental health needs and dementia?
Work in a team that embraces a person-centred, strengths-based approach?
Champion the role of social work and social care in an integrated mental health setting, using your leadership to shape and grow the profession?
About the Team
We’re proud of our recently transformed Older Adult Community Mental Health Team, developed in line with the Community Mental Health Framework. This specialist pathway supports older adults with functional mental health needs and neurodegenerative disorders, where the impact on wellbeing and independence is significant.
Our team is dynamic, multidisciplinary, and deeply collaborative. You’ll work alongside Senior Practitioners from both the Local Authority and the Mental Health NHS Trust, united in our goal to achieve the best outcomes for people in our community.
About the Role
As Team Manager, you’ll lead with empathy and vision, fostering a culture rooted in recovery, strengths-based support, and rights-based practice. You’ll guide your team to deliver flexible, creative interventions that empower individuals to maintain independence and thrive in their communities.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing visible, accessible leadership and real-time performance management.
Driving quality improvement and change management initiatives.
Collaborating across the wider health and social care system to deliver joined-up support.
Inspiring your team to deliver gold-standard care through shared values and professional development.
We’re committed to your growth too – with ongoing supervision, training opportunities, and support from both the Local Authority and AWP.
Location & Lifestyle
This role is based in Bath and North East Somerset – a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning architecture, vibrant culture, and beautiful countryside. With excellent transport links, staff parking, pool cars, electric charge points, and secure bike facilities, commuting is easy and flexible.
