We are an expert team of professionals advising, coordinating, supporting and co-producing strategic initiatives and improvements in partnership with our colleges and services, and their constituent schools and departments. We are driven by a commitment to deliver positive outcomes that benefit those who work, study and partner with the University.
The service operates under a matrix management model with members of the service aligned to a capability team for their professional standards, development and line management, and deployed onto strategic change programme/projects for their strategic and operational delivery.
The role holder will line managed by the Head of Change Management and will contribute both to the development and continuous improvement of the capability and to the operational management of programmes/projects.
The successful candidate will be aligned to specific programme delivery and will be responsible for coordinating and managing the activity that prepares and supports individuals/groups of individuals to adopt and sustain planned changes. You will also support programme and project sponsors and leads by planning and managing their activity required to support the change.
You can access information on our current portfolio on our Strategic Initiatives webpage.
This post is open-ended (permanent) and full-time (35 hours per week).
We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Colleagues are expected to be in the office for at least 2 days per week with on-campus days aligned to service and delivery requirements.
The role is grade UE09 and the salary scale for the post is £63,606 - £78,469 per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Significant evidenced practical experience of managing the people side of change within a large strategic programme or portfolio with deep understanding of change management methodologies.
Demonstrated ability of creating and coordinating plans across multiple concurrent changes, ensuring strategic alignment, stakeholder readiness, and sustainable adoption across the organisation.
Excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to develop positive working relationships and influence diverse stakeholder groups including board members, senior leaders and programme teams.
Skilled at managing conflicting priorities and organisational sensitivities, with a high level of emotional intelligence.
Ability to work with minimum supervision accurately and consistently to high standards with a passion for continuous improvement.
Experience managing change professionals within a programme or project team.
