The role:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Sheltered Housing Officer to join the Supported Housing team.
Reporting to the Sheltered Housing Team Leader, you will play a vital role in delivering enhanced housing management services to residents living in our sheltered accommodation schemes.
As the main point of contact on-site, you will build strong relationships with residents, carers, visitors, contractors, and external agencies, ensuring the smooth and safe running of the building and the wellbeing of those who live there.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver an enhanced housing management service that supports residents to sustain their tenancies and access appropriate services
Monitor and meet key performance indicators to maintain a high standard of customer service
Welcome and support new residents, including assisting with viewings, move-ins, and orientation
Identify, report, and follow up on repairs and maintenance issues within communal areas and support residents to report issues within their own homes
Maintain a clean, secure, and safe environment in and around the scheme, including communal areas, laundry facilities, and guest rooms
Carry out regular health and safety checks, alarm testing, and building inspections in line with organisational procedures
Be conversant with emergency procedures and respond appropriately when necessary.
Support resident meetings, consultation events, and encourage engagement in service-related decisions
Liaise with contractors and ensure effective delivery of on-site services
Safeguard resident wellbeing by reporting concerns in line with organisational safeguarding procedures
Keep accurate records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with data protection legislation
What the client is looking for:
Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
Previous experience of providing an enhanced housing management services
Demonstrable and relevant experience of providing excellent customer services in varied settings
Experience of working with computerised systems and packages
Administrative and record keeping experience
Excellent, clear and concise written communication skills
Excellent and articulate verbal communication skills
Ability to make measured decisions and implement them
