Exciting Opportunity: Cost Engineer (Kingston upon Hull)


Are you a talented Cost Engineer looking to take your career to new heights? My global client is seeking a driven and experienced professional to join their team in Kingston upon Hull. As a Cost Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the financial success of this dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide key financial data for internal month-end P&L submissions
  • Remeasure and check BOQ updates
  • Conduct risk analysis and forecasting for cost and value
  • Manage cost provisions and accruals, including third-party materials, subcontractors, and plant
  • Analyse weekly cost ledgers using the company's financial systems
  • Demonstrate competent knowledge of subcontract agreements
  • Facilitate subcontractor progress and update meetings
  • Agree on subcontractor valuations and payment certificates
  • Compile data for inclusion in main payment applications
  • Conduct commercial auditing of subcontracts, including payment applications, rates, and claims

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Cost Engineer in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of NEC 4 Option B Contracts and the NAECI Agreement
  • Expertise in the Standard Method of Measurement
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using financial systems, such as SAP and Power BI
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
