Fixed term contract for 1 year
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and proactive Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join our team on a fixed-term basis. You’ll be at the heart of supporting vulnerable tenants across our community—helping them keep their homes, regain independence, and prevent homelessness through personalised support and partnership working.
As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you’ll be delivering tailored, person-centred support to tenants who are at risk of losing their homes. You’ll work directly with individuals to help them manage their finances, access benefits, and tackle rent arrears—empowering them to take control of their tenancy. This role involves active collaboration with internal and external agencies and community groups.
You will carry out thorough needs assessments and co-develop support plans, ensuring each tenant receives the guidance and resources they need. Throughout your work, you will help tenants better understand their rights and responsibilities, identify any safeguarding concerns, and make timely referrals where necessary. You will also play a vital role in supporting new tenants as they settle in, reducing the risk of early tenancy failure. Keeping accurate records and contributing to performance monitoring will be part of your routine—helping us track progress and continuously improve the service we deliver.
We are seeking someone with a compassionate and solution-focused approach to supporting vulnerable people. You will need excellent communication skills and a strong ability to build trust and rapport. A sound knowledge of housing systems, welfare benefits and tenancy legislation will be key, along with experience in safeguarding and working across multi-agency partnerships. Your organisational skills and ability to stay on top of complex casework will help ensure no tenant slips through the net. Most importantly, you will bring passion and dedication to helping people thrive in secure, sustainable homes—and play a vital role in our mission to prevent homelessness.
We offer excellent training and development opportunities, a supportive work culture, and the chance to shape real outcomes for people who need it most.
