Summary
An opportunity has arisen within ICT Operations to join the Desktop Support team. As an ICT Desktop Support Officer, you will be part of a hardworking, busy team supporting all departments across the council. You will help to provide a high-quality Desktop Support service, ensuring all requests, incidents, and projects, are captured and progressed swiftly to deliver robust, reliable and cost-effective ICT, which meets customer requirements and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
Your work will be varied but the essential skills and experience required for the role includes but is not limited to:
Experience of providing 2nd line ICT support utilising service management tools
Providing high-quality, customer focused support services
Skilled in Windows based PC's, Laptops, Tablets, Thin Clients, Apple and Android mobile devices
Knowledge of enterprise level desktop software such as Microsoft Office and Teams
Management of desktop peripheral devices, device imaging and MFD's
Practical hands-on experience and knowledge of desktop hardware and software, a systematic, logical approach to problem solving and the willingness to learn enterprise systems to provide high quality, customer focused Desktop Support services are essential.
This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that would suit a highly motivated, committed, and versatile individual who will become fully integrated into the current team. You will be experienced in working on multiple projects whilst helping to fulfil customer requests and resolve incidents.
As a disciplined and analytical problem solver, you will demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to prioritise your workload, take ownership as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A career graded position, starting at the lower grade 6, may be considered which offers the post holder to study and pass a BSc (Hons) in a relevant Computing subject and gain the necessary experience, prior to rising to grade 7 and finally being promoted to the full grade 8 ICT Desktop Support Officer post.
