We’re currently offering a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team on a 6-month fixed term basis, based in Fort William. This role is ideal for someone eager to build their finance career while experiencing some of Scotland’s most breathtaking landscapes.
Responsibilities
To assist the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly results and maintain a high level of deadline attainment;
To support in strategic and tactical company development with financial analysis, project appraisal and other financial information
To assist Senior and Farm Managers in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly cash flow forecasts;
To assist Senior and Farm Managers in the control of cost and expenses against previously agreed budgets;
To produce timely and reliable management information reports on a monthly basis;
To investigate variances against budgets and provide analysis of differences on a monthly basis;
To challenge any variances directly with key budget holders;
To attend site / operational meetings and ensure financial guidance to farm managers;
To assist the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with routine and ad hoc tasks.
Requirements
While we’re ideally seeking someone with prior finance experience, our main priority is finding the right person for the team.
You’ll likely have:
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification;
Progress toward a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or similar) – fully qualified also welcome;
Familiarity with accounting or bookkeeping systems;
Strong digital skills, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams;
A well-organised approach to tasks and time management;
A desire to grow and learn within a dynamic business environment.
Bonus points for experience with cloud-based systems or an understanding of sustainability in business, though neither is essential.
