Are you passionate about supporting the next generation of construction professionals? CITB is looking for a dedicated Apprenticeship Development Officer to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of apprentices across the Scottish Isles.

Role: Apprenticeship Development Officer

Location: Mobile, covering the Scottish Isles

Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Grade: Specialist Contributor 2

Target Salary: £41,200 per annum

Additional Benefits: Mobile Working Allowance £580, Car Allowance £6,452

Special Requirements: As this is a mobile role, candidates must have a driving licence that enables them to drive in the UK. The post holder will be eligible for either a company car or a car allowance, subject to the vehicle nominated for business use complying with CITB’s Car Policy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Apprenticeship Development Officer, you’ll be responsible for recruiting apprentices and guiding them through every stage of their apprenticeship journey. You’ll be a key point of contact, offering tailored support, solving problems, and helping learners stay on track to achieve their qualifications on time.

Your role will be vital in:

Supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of apprentices
Ensuring compliance with Modern Apprenticeship frameworks, government regulations, and CITB’s internal standards
Providing additional support where needed to retain learners and drive successful outcomes
Collaborating with training providers, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure a high-quality learning experience
Your Experience:

Understanding of the Modern Apprenticeship system in Scotland
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
Computer literate with experience of Office 365, including confidence with preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations
Ability to prioritise effectively and adapt to unforeseen circumstances
Experience of working to targets and deadlines
Previous use of a Learner Management System (e.g. Aptem)
Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks and compliance requirements
