Finance Assistant
Search are supporting a well established business in Bately, looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in both purchase ledger and credit control to play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting cash flow management.
This will be initially for 4 month and with a possibility to be extended for another year. It is fully office based, working full time.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 17:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger:
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid on time
Credit Control:
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments
- Chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and written communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments
- Allocate incoming payments and update customer records
- Prepare aged debt reports and escalate issues where necessary
This is a varied position which will also include some additional financial tasks.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a finance role covering both purchase ledger and credit control
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Good communication skills and a confident approach to resolving queries
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel and Sage (admirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
