Our client is seeking a dynamic Science Writer, Communications and PR Manager with a strong background in marketing and science communication within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry. This role is central to aligning their clinical platform technology with strategic communication efforts, supporting the development and promotion of their lead candidates through clinical trials.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled science communicator, capable of translating complex scientific concepts into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences— including investors, healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and the general public. You will lead strategic marketing, branding, and public relations initiatives, ensuring that their scientific advancements are effectively communicated and understood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated marketing and communication strategies that align with clinical development goals.
- Write, edit, and publish high-quality scientific content including press releases, technical articles, white papers, blog posts, and investor updates.
- Translate complex scientific data into accessible language for non-specialist audiences.
- Manage internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms.
- Collaborate with clinical and regulatory teams to ensure accurate and compliant communication of scientific milestones.
- Support investor relations through compelling storytelling and data-driven narratives.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, adjusting strategies based on analytics and feedback.
- Maintain a risk management plan for communications and marketing activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and corporate governance standards.
- Stay current with trends in science communication, pharmaceutical marketing, and digital media.
Educational Background:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical development, investment and regulatory environments is highly desirable.
Job-Related Experience:
- Proven experience in science writing, journalism, or communications within the life sciences or healthcare sector.
- Strong portfolio of published scientific or technical content.
- Demonstrated ability to lead marketing and communication campaigns from concept to execution.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including R&D, clinical, and regulatory.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and content management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
