This role is to assist in the provision of a breast imaging service, performing mammograms and further views, assisting with VAB (stereo and US), assisting with US procedures, chaperoning US patients, contrast -enhanced mammography. Key Duties Act as an Operator under IR(ME)R 2017 regulations, assess clinical justification of referrals to ensure that the benefit to the patient outweighs the radiation risk associated with the examination. Act as a patient and staff advocate by minimising their exposure to radiation. Provide efficient and courteous provision of radiographic services to the departments agreed standards whilst taking into account the patient's clinical, physical and cultural needs. To participate in the departmental rota, being flexible in responding to service needs. Assess clinical workload, communicate work priorities and organise work load in conjunction with other team members. To work effectively as part of a team with the respective work area. Responsible for the safe use and maintenance of imaging equipment, reporting faults to senior staff and directly to the manufacturer / service provider when necessary. To coordinate and organise clinical lists in the Breast Imaging area. Skills and Experience Post graduate qualification in Mammography Hold a BSc in Radiography or equivalent. HCPC registered.
