The post is for a full time Interventional Radiology trainee based mainly at The Royal London Hospital but also at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

You will join a dynamic and evolving workforce in an organisation with a dedicated interventional radiology suite which is amongst the largest in the UK with significant plans for expansion.

The service is made up of 12 substantive consultant interventional radiologists, 8 dedicated interventional radiographers and 45 nurses who support interventional radiology lists as well as 6 health care assistants. The service has five dedicated interventional radiology rooms and 2 hybrid room operating rooms, 1 at RLH and 1 at SBH.

The candidate will be responsible for participating in duties related to interventional radiology across Barts Health NHS Trust.

· To provide a first class clinical service in Interventional Radiology.

· To provide radiological expertise in terms of advice for imaging and reporting.

· To actively participate in research, statutory and mandatory training, education and audit programmes.

· Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care

· To have regard at all times to the clinical and quality standards set out in the NHS Cancer Plan, the Improving Outcomes reports and National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance reports.

· To maintain and promote team and multidisciplinary work.

· To engage fully in the appraisal/assessment cycle.
