We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our thriving secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time position starting this September. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, exciting science lessons and helping students to achieve their full potential. Position Details

  • Contract: Full-time
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Pay Rate: £160 - £250 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills & Experience

  • Sound understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum.
  • Ability to explain complex scientific concepts in a clear and engaging way.
  • Proven ability to create a dynamic and exciting learning environment.
  • Experience implementing a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities and practical experiments.
  • Excellent classroom management and a positive approach to discipline.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Effective assessment of student learning and the provision of constructive feedback to support continuous progress.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Conduct practical experiments, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback that promotes continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a positive, focused learning environment while promoting discipline and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events, fostering a well-rounded educational experience for students.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and guardians to support student's development.
