Summary
An established aquaculture business with a reputation for low-impact, high-welfare farming has an opportunity for an experienced Landing Craft Skipper to support daily marine logistics and sea site operations in the remote and scenic Northwest Highlands.
This is a hands-on role suited to a Skipper who can confidently lead vessel operations, support aquaculture logistics and uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance and environmental care.
Key responsibilities:
Operate and maintain landing craft within certified limits and in line with D.O.T, MCA and Health & Safety regulations
Perform sea site operations including feed delivery, mooring maintenance, towing of pens and barges
Keep thorough onboard records including servicing, engine logs, fuel use, crew hours and disinfection protocol
Support farm operations and liaise with production and site managers
Ensure compliance with company standards, health & safety and environmental protocols
Supervise boat personnel, including training and performance management
Weekend work as required by boat workload
What we’re looking for:
RYA Commercial Endorsement for vessels under 24m
Strong understanding of maritime safety and aquaculture logistics
Organised, responsible and capable of mentoring others
Comfortable working in remote coastal environments
Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and broader site duties
