About the role
The Business Manager of the Virtual School in Hull has a key strategic role in providing oversight of our data platforms, ensuring colleagues and partners receive accurate information. Hull has over 650 children looked after, including around 150 in the post 16 cohort. The team track and monitor the progress and attainment of all these children continually supporting social workers, schools, and other education settings. It is therefore essential that systems within the Virtual School operate smoothly and efficiently. This allows our frontline staff to focus on engaging with the education of our children and young people.
The Virtual School is a vibrant and well-resourced team which includes a Deputy Headteacher and three Phase Leaders. There are excellent working relationships with the Social Care teams as well as with other stakeholders around the young person.
The ideal candidate will be:
Qualified to Degree level, ideally in finance, administration or business or significant relevant experience.
Able to manage and deliver change programmes and apply effective project management skills to improve practice.
Able to lead and manage a team of administrators.
Knowledgeable and experienced in data analysis, particularly pertaining to educational outcomes.
Confident in delivering training to teachers, social workers and Virtual School staff.
Adept at written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.
In addition, you will need:
A relentless approach to getting the systems right.
A passion to improve the lives of children through achieving positive outcomes.
An ability to suggest and implement creative solutions.
Experience of working collaboratively with partners to support the delivery of great services.
Working Hours:
37 hours per week during term time only, with 15 additional days, outside term time, as required to support Virtual School business.
This term time only role is based on a school’s academic calendar. Salary is calculated on a pro-rata basis to reflect the reduced working weeks.
