Variable Hours
This role is offered on a Variable Hours contract for services, giving you the flexibility to choose whether to accept work offered to you. We’ll provide an approximate number of hours you may asked to work, however there is no obligation for work to be offered, and there’s no obligation for you to accept the work offered.
The Opportunity
Based in our friendly Learning for Living & Work team, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective teaching for our students. Working closely with the course leader, you will ensure that our learners receive the tailored support they need in a practical, workshop, or classroom setting. You will be responsible for delivering courses in Preparation for Adulthood and Independent Living, Employability and Work Skills, Functional Skills, and Personal Development and Wellbeing, helping our students develop essential skills for their future. Your role will include preparing and delivering structured lessons, selecting appropriate resources, and assessing student progress to support their learning objectives.
Beyond teaching, you will provide individualised support by maintaining accurate records, updating learning plans, and ensuring that your lessons promote independence and confidence. You will also provide cover when your colleagues are absent, oversee drop-in learning sessions, and conduct health and safety inductions. Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment will be key to encouraging student engagement and participation.
This flexible role enables you to make a real difference, helping our students develop essential life, employability, and independence skills to achieve their goals.
About You
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting our students in their personal and professional development. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching or supporting learning in a practical, classroom, or workshop setting, with a focus on life skills, employability, and independence. You should be enthusiastic about creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to reach their potential.
You will be adaptable and take a flexible approach to meet the needs of our students and the department. Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain accurate records, assess student progress, and provide tailored support. Experience in functional skills, personal development, or wellbeing courses would be beneficial, but most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives and supporting them to achieve their goals.

Required
• Relevant Level 3 qualification
• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
• Level 4 Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development
• Have relevant experience in an educational environment
• Experience working with learners who have learning difficulties or disabilities
