Crynodeb

The Business Manager is responsible for the effective administration of all corporate business & resource activity across the Army’s cadet forces. The post involves work and liaison across the other Regional Command (RC) branches and with the RFCA (Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Associates). There is travel opportunity, flexible working is possible, though there are weekly key meetings you would be expected to attend in person. Your desk is in a modern, open plan office, as part of a whole force Cadet Branch team of civil service, military and contract staff.

Key responsibilities:

Be the desk officer for drafting and implementing the Army Cadet resource plan and providing direction and guidance on corporate management policy and regulations.
Work as the primary liaison officer between Cadet branch and Regional Command’s Civil Secretariat for all financial matters and focal point for low value Contract, Purchasing and Finance approvals.
Analyse and evaluate business cases to ensure that they comply with government acquisition policy and financial regularity & propriety directives prior to their submission to the Civil Secretary and General Officer Commanding’s office for review and consideration.
Work closely with our Arm’s Length Bodies and other Defence agencies to ensure that the correct infrastructure resourcing priorities are set for over 1,700 community cadet training detachments and 55 regional training centres.
Confirm that the contractor led Army Cadet Management Information System (Cadet Digital) team use their Ministry of Defence resource efficiently, economically and appropriately when securing leading edge digital capability for the Army’s cadets.
Travel when directed to brief our regional resource managers and unit logistics staff at any of our 10 sites located across the UK.
Manage the Volunteer Allowance for Adult Volunteers appointed to the National Appointed List (NAL).
Manage the annual allocation on Westminster/cadet MIS (Management Information System) of Volunteer Allowance for all ten Joint Military Commands.

Once in the role, you will be required to complete the following courses, if not already additional to any mandated training:
