The Role
A well-regarded and inclusive school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a part-time, long-term supply basis starting September 2025. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 and small group support, as well as general classroom cover across a range of year groups.
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted interventions to pupils with additional needs
- Provide 1:1 support to students, helping them access the curriculum
- Lead small group sessions to reinforce learning and boost confidence
- Cover lessons in the absence of teaching staff, following planned materials
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to support inclusive learning
- Maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Be based in the Sheffield area with Right to Work in UK
- Possess HLTA qualification/equivalent experience
- Proven experience supporting pupils in mainstream or SEND settings
- Confidence delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible, proactive, and compassionate approach to learning support
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
