The Opportunity
We're seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Office Administrator to provide essential support to our daily operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a growing business and develop your administrative skills.
While the ideal role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, we understand the importance of flexibility. For the right candidate and we are open to discussing alternative and reduced hours, especially to accommodate parental responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be the backbone of our office, ensuring smooth operations and supporting our team. Your responsibilities will include:
• First Point of Contact: Managing reception, answering calls, and handling enquiries professionally.
• Document Management: Typing and word processing various documents (minutes, letters, reports), and maintaining our online filing system to support our paperless initiative.
• Office Logistics: Processing mail, organising travel arrangements, ordering office and laboratory supplies, and booking appointments for servicing and repairs.
• Communication & Coordination: Sending emails to keep staff updated on appointments, managing office calendars, and liaising with all internal and external contacts.
• Financial Support: (Depending on experience) Assisting with minor accounting duties such as processing invoices, and purchasing consumables and equipment as requested.
• Shipping: Organising shipping for all mail, samples and orders.
• Office Upkeep: Ensuring a safe and welcoming office environment for staff and visitors.
• Team Contribution: Actively contributing to the overall team effort and success and ad hoc tasks as requested by senior management.

Who We're Looking For:
You'll be a proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team. You'll have strong communication skills and a proven ability to manage your workload and prioritise effectively.
Experience, Skills & Characteristics:
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar office administration role.
• High standard of education in English and Maths is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work on your own initiative and provide independent support to the team.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
• Knowledge of Xero accounting software is desirable.
