Job Title: Maintenance Operative
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 3 weeks initially- possibility of extension
Hours: Monday- Friday (9am-5pm)
Pay Rate: £15.77 to £18.40 per hour
Location: Edinburgh (EH8)
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance inspections and perform necessary repairs on building systems, following direction from the Facilities Manager.
- Duties include minor plastering, painting, screwing in hinges, fixing leaking taps.
- Responsible for inspecting rooms to identify and report visible maintenance issues.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Assist in other general facilities duties such as moving equipment, replacing light bulbs, or fixing furniture.
Key Skills:
- Background in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC).
- Must be proactive and fit and able to perform tasks.
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take instruction.
- Basic knowledge of building safety and compliance standards.
