Managing Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

My client is an award-winning Developer specialising in Regeneration and Affordable Housing Projects across the UK. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Midlands Team to lead a team of surveyors across a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes. The role requires a hands-on approach to commercial management, pre-tender work, and team leadership to help deliver high-quality housing projects across the region.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:

  • Leading and managing the Quantity Surveying team to ensure effective project delivery
  • Overseeing cost control, subcontractor procurement, and cash management
  • Preparing and reviewing financial reports, CVRs, and PPRs
  • Supporting land acquisitions and pre-tender estimating/contractual reviews
  • Managing contractual issues, claims, and dispute resolution
  • Liaising with clients, internal departments, and the wider supply chain

Managing Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within the residential sector
  • Strong experience in both new build and refurbishment housing projects
  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts (e.g. D&B)
  • Ability to manage subcontract procurement and negotiate effectively
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing commercial teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in dealing with clients and stakeholders


Other Desirable Skills include:

  • Experience in upfront land acquisition and associated commercial processes
  • Involvement in pre-tender works including estimating and contract reviews
