Managing Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
My client is an award-winning Developer specialising in Regeneration and Affordable Housing Projects across the UK. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Midlands Team to lead a team of surveyors across a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes. The role requires a hands-on approach to commercial management, pre-tender work, and team leadership to help deliver high-quality housing projects across the region.
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for:
- Leading and managing the Quantity Surveying team to ensure effective project delivery
- Overseeing cost control, subcontractor procurement, and cash management
- Preparing and reviewing financial reports, CVRs, and PPRs
- Supporting land acquisitions and pre-tender estimating/contractual reviews
- Managing contractual issues, claims, and dispute resolution
- Liaising with clients, internal departments, and the wider supply chain
Managing Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
- Proven track record as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within the residential sector
- Strong experience in both new build and refurbishment housing projects
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts (e.g. D&B)
- Ability to manage subcontract procurement and negotiate effectively
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing commercial teams
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in dealing with clients and stakeholders
Other Desirable Skills include:
- Experience in upfront land acquisition and associated commercial processes
- Involvement in pre-tender works including estimating and contract reviews
