Digital Marketing Assistant

Full Time 40 hours per week

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Assistant to join the British Garden Centres team. This opportunity would be great for someone wanting to take their first steps into a marketing career. Experience in a previous role would be beneficial, but not essential, as full training will be given. You must have a strong interest in Marketing and a willingness to Learn, and a can-do attitude.
The successful candidate will be based at Brigg Garden Centre but from time to time will be required to help and attend marketing events and shows. This may involve attending other locations, such as one of our 73 centres or different locations around the country. Although this role will mainly be in hours of Monday- Friday there will be occasional weekend working required.

Skill Requirements:
• Keen interest in marketing and willingness to learn (essential).
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team (essential).
• Work to deadlines, ensuring work is completed to a high standard (essential).
• An eye for detail and the ability to work accurately (essential).
• Proofreading and editing skills (essential).
• Knowledge of WordPress and SEO (desirable).
• Experience in a similar role (desirable).
• A degree in a marketing-related subject (desirable).

Responsibilities:
• Update information on the company’s websites.
• Working with garden centres and the management team to ensure centre information is kept up to date on the website.
• Housekeeping on the company’s websites, such as creating redirects, optimising SEO.
• Adding blogs to the company’s website.
• Help the e-commerce team at busier times with adding and maintaining product listings on our online store.
• Support with the company’s Google Merchant account to ensure product listings are correct and optimised.
• Assisting with the maintenance of the company’s CRM and email database.
• Adding and maintaining events on the company’s website and ticketing system.
• Attend marketing and company events when needed, such as gardening shows and centre events across the UK.
• Proofreading of marketing material.
• Working on the group’s loyalty programme (family card), helping to drive it forward and assisting with communications to customers.
• Analysing and reporting on digital marketing elements.
