About us


We are looking for an experienced commissioning officer to cover 12 months maternity leave in a fast paced role finding homes for cared for children.


You will join an experienced and supportive team who will help you in developing the roles and responsibilities. You will be supported to develop and enhance your skills in a team which values opportunities and progression.

About you


If you are enthusiastic about outcomes for children and young people and have some experience of commissioning or procurement we want to hear from you. About the role


These posts are varied and will support colleagues in all aspects of children’s commissioning.


The key outcomes of this role are:

  • Children and young people have access to the services they need, in the right place at the right time.


  • The commissioning team is well respected and works closely with colleagues across children’s services and the wider council.


  • Strong commissioning arrangements are in place which evidence good performance and outcomes for children and young people.


  • Brokerage activities are compliant with procurement regulations and are completed efficiently.


  • Commissioning Managers are supported to complete all aspects of the commissioning cycle.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £21.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £5.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £21.50.

We will not be accepting candidates who require a sponsorship for this position.
