Be recognized as a clinical expert in all aspects of CT imaging maintaining an expert knowledge of CT procedures, practices and legislation. Be recognized as an expert practitioner utilize professional expertise and judgement to problem solve routine and non-routine scenarios throughout the Pre-treatment pathway. Undertake and lead on aspects of CT procedures and development. Undertake cannulation and contrast delivery. Undertake palliative planning via eclipse. Work collaboratively with all departmental Leads to ensure seamless integration of CT imaging and planning in the patient pathway and ensure provision of a safe, timely and high quality service for all service users. Possess a comprehensive understanding of national legislation, including the Ionising Radiations Regulations (IRR) and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IRMER), as they apply to ionising radiation exposure. Act as the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) and IRMER Lead for the CT area, with responsibility for addressing and managing all radiation safety queries and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements. 8. Ensure the CT scanner is operated safely and accurately for both patients and staff by performing all required machine checks, adhering to safety protocols, and promptly reporting any variances or faults in accordance with departmental procedures Ensure that all staff rotating through the CT area have read and understood the Local Rules, work instructions, and procedures relevant to CT. Take responsibility for ensuring that all clinical training deadlines are met, and identify and address the training needs of all staff assigned to the CT area. Demonstrate the ability to resolve highly complex set up/ positioning issues with problem solving skills and effective autonomous decision-making. For further details please see the attached JD & PS
