Graduate Unqualified Teacher
Are you a recent graduate with a strong academic background and a serious interest in becoming a teacher?
An ambitious secondary school in Brent is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Unqualified Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
This is a 1-year fixed-term role, ideal for graduates who are considering a career in teaching and want to gain first-hand classroom experience in a core subject such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities or MFL before starting a PGCE or teacher training programme.
The Role:
As a Graduate Unqualified Teacher, you’ll step into a structured support role designed to develop your confidence and competence in the classroom. Under the guidance of experienced teachers and middle leaders, your responsibilities will include:
• Leading pre-planned lessons to full classes
• Supporting students in your subject specialism across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering interventions and booster sessions for small groups and individuals
• Developing classroom management strategies
• Assisting with marking, planning, and data tracking as needed
This is a rare opportunity to experience the realities of teaching while being supported by a strong professional development framework – perfect preparation for those planning to train as a qualified teacher in the near future.
What We’re Looking For:
• A recent graduate (2:1 or above preferred) in a core subject (Maths, English, Science, History, Geography, or MFL)
• A clear ambition to become a qualified teacher
• Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
• Confidence, initiative, and a professional attitude
• Previous experience working with young people or in education is desirable but not essential
Why Join This School?
• Located in Brent, with excellent public transport links
• High-performing, inclusive school with a track record of supporting graduates into teaching
• Full access to CPD and teacher training pathways
• Friendly, diverse student community and supportive staff team
• Ideal for those applying to PGCE, Schools Direct, or Teach First in 2026
Pay & Contract:
• £25,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience and subject specialism
• Fixed-term contract for the full 2025–26 academic year
• Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, term time only
• Contract managed through KPI Education
