audits, and reporting, while providing analysis and support across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist with preparation of month-end management accounts including journals, reconciliations, and P&L analysis.
* Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and manage the fixed asset register.
* Support preparation of VAT/IPT returns, statutory accounts, Solvency II, and FCA regulatory submissions.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to both finance and non-finance teams.
* Contribute to year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
* Assist in profit share calculations, investment portfolio postings, and liquidity reporting.
* Support and guide junior accounting staff, performing work checks where required.
* Engage in continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.
* Respond to internal and external queries, presenting clear financial solutions and analysis.
* Ensure compliance with corporate governance, FCA regulations, and HMRC requirements.







About you

Knowledge and Experience

* 2 years plus experience in general ledger accounting
* Experience with with prepayments and accruals
* Insurance industry experience is desirable



Skills

* Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and present data effectively
* Clear and confident written and verbal communication
* Highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise workload independently
* Proven track record of working accurately under strict deadlines
