Lancashire Wildlife Trust is looking for a highly motivated individual to join The West Pennines More Nature Partnership as Assistant Project Officer.
This role offers a valuable opportunity for a proactive and driven individual to help shape the development of the project.

(CV's will not be considered - No Agencies)

The West Pennines More Nature Partnership (WPMNP) is a Landscape Recovery Scheme project focussing on large-scale restoration across the West Pennine Moors SSSI and beyond. The project area covers over 7,000ha of land with a range of habitat types including blanket bog, heathland, woodland, and grassland. WPMNP will work in close collaboration with landowners, farm tenants, and local communities to see the habitats of the West Pennine Moors SSSI and beyond restored to favourable condition, meeting national Net Zero targets, increasing the levels of biodiversity, and improving the quality of the habitats.

The Assistant Project Officer will support the team on various aspects of the project such as Land Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Stakeholder Engagement, Access, and Farm Plans. We are looking for someone who is proactive and keen to help make a difference in the West Pennines.

The project is currently within a two-year development phase, which is scheduled to run until the end of May 2026, where the plans for the subsequent twenty-year implementation phase will be created. If the project development is successful there may be opportunity for the Assistant Project Officer to be involved in the subsequent project implementation phase.

The position is full time, working 35 hours per week. Work outside of regular office hours such as evenings and weekends will be occasionally required.

In return we offer 28 days holidays plus bank holidays per annum, increasing with length of service. A friendly and flexible working environment with the chance to be a part of the largest nature conservation body in the area, working together to improve our region for nature as well as engaging and inspiring people to connect and take action for wildlife.
