Join our team as a Transplant Supervisor

We are a well-established plant nursery with multiple sites in East Yorkshire, dedicated to growing and supplying high-quality ornamental plants. We’re looking for a proactive and organised Transplant Supervisor to join our team at Ellerker, South Cave. This is a key hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in horticulture or production.

About the role
As a Transplant Supervisor, you’ll take charge of the day-to-day running of the transplant area. You’ll lead the team, making sure everything runs smoothly, and jobs are completed to a high standard. You’ll work closely with other departments and will play a key part in keeping things running efficiently and supporting a positive, productive working environment.

You will help with a range of day-to-day tasks, but the key responsibilities will include:
• Supervising and supporting transplant staff, including agency workers
• Organising daily operations and coordinating with internal teams (growing, transport, admin)
• Monitoring plug quality, pest and disease checks, and accurate batch handling
• Maintaining health and safety standards and reporting any incidents or hazards
• Conducting and recording equipment start-up checks and shutdown procedures
• Managing timesheets, forms, and works orders with accuracy
• Overseeing cleanliness, recycling, and general housekeeping of the area
• Supporting staff inductions and highlighting training needs to management

What we are looking for
• Proven leadership and team supervision experience
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
• A hands-on approach with good attention to detail
• Strong awareness of health and safety in a working environment
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and keep operations running smoothly
• Basic IT/admin competence and confidence completing routine documentation
• Horticultural knowledge and experience with transplant equipment is an advantage

A background in commercial horticulture is an advantage but a role of a similar level with transferable skills will be considered. Full training will be provided. Full UK driving licence preferable but not essential.

Why Join Us?
We are a well-established grower with a focus on quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our transplant operation runs efficiently and contributes to the successful growth of our plants.

Ready to grow with us?
Apply now by submitting your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in the role to HR@coletta.co.uk.
