TITLE:ADHD - Clinical Lead DEPARTMENT Neurodevelopmental Services LOCATION: Leeds HOURS OF WORK: Up to full time (37.5 hours/week) made up on 0.2 WTE Leadership time and up to 0.8 WTE clinical time Salary Competitive and dependent on experience NATURE OF CONTRACT: Permanent ACCOUNTABLE TO: Associate Director of Clinical Professions ROLE SUMMARY The Clinical Lead will act as a central point for all ADHD clinical activity within our service, working closely with the operational and senior leadership team to ensure delivery of a safe, highly effective and high-quality pathway for patients seeking ADHD assessment and treatment. The post holder will be an experienced clinician and leader with extensive experience in ADHD; possessing the ability to provide supervision and oversight to the wider ADHD clinical team. The role will be a mix of clinical leadership and patient based activity. As such, the post holder will work 0.2WTE in a leadership capacity, with up to 0.8WTE of the post being spent undertaking ADHD assessments and/or treatment. MAIN DUTIES The Clinical Lead will provide clinical oversight and leadership to the wider ADHD by: Supporting the development of the Leeds GP Confederation ADHD service Providing clinical leadership and oversight to a multi-disciplinary team of Specialist ADHD Practitioners Leading weekly internal multi-disciplinary team meetings Work with a variety of agencies and stakeholders and other community-based professionals working with people with ADHD/suspected ADHD Providing staff training Offering consultation, support and provision of ADHD assessment and treatment advice Ensuring that the wider ADHD team are working within local and national guidelines Ensuring robust clinical governance arrangements are in place, and leading on clinical audit of the service Risks are identified, assessed for urgency and appropriately escalated to the appropriate person or service when required. Working with the operational team, ensuring key performance indicators are monitored, and maintained Identify gaps in provision for people with ADHD symptoms within the current Health and Care Partnership to inform future service requirements. Develop multi-agency working across communities and voluntary and statutory organisations to improve health and address health inequality for people with ADHD symptoms. Gather and collate statistical and other information and data as required, to report on activity and outcomes and ensure effective qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation of the service. Reflect on practice, and participate in team meetings, practice development forums and peer supervision within the service. Ensure that patient records and other information systems are completed accurately and within agreed timescales. Ensure adherence to organisational policies and procedures relating to risk and personal safety. Work with team members and colleagues to continually improve the quality of services within the overall organisational governance frameworks and service objectives. Clinically, the post holder will undertake ADHD assessments independently and/or provide ADHD treatment including the prescribing of medication. Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
