Fabrication Inspector
The Fabrication Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all fabricated components meet specified standards, drawings, codes, and customer requirements. This role involves inspecting materials, welds, dimensions, and finishes during and after the fabrication process to verify compliance with quality and safety standards.
The role involves working in an industrial setting, which may include exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
Physical stamina is essential as the role involves manual labour and extended periods of standing.
Benefits:
£39,520 per annum
Pay £19.00 p/h + overtime
Saturday x 1.5 time
Sunday Double time
Monday to Thursday 6am-2:30pm & Friday 6am-1pm
39 hour week with overtime available
24 days annual leave + bank holidays
Responsibilities
Perform in-process and final inspections of fabricated metal components and assemblies.
Carry out NDE as required – Following training
Identify & record nonconforming products & oversee resolution as required
Generate and maintain inspection documentation as necessary
Ensure Inspection test plan is followed
First off to final release inspection
Inspection visits to sub suppliers
Assist with customer visits
Calibration / verification of equipment
Maintaining welding parameters and welding stores
Requirements
Essential
Ability to read engineering drawings, specification etc.
Ability to use measuring equipment – Tape measures etc.
Ability to use Microsoft Office
Ability to plan own workload
Experience with QC of structural fabrications during all aspects of production.
Familiar with ISO 9001
Driving licence recognised in the UK
Good understanding of maths
Good communicator

PCN/CSWIP Visual qualification
PCN/CSWIP MT qualification
