Long Term Futures are working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Newham to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join the team from September 2025.
The school has a strong focus on early learning, emotional wellbeing and personalised support. Staff benefit from regular CPD, a structured development programme, and excellent support from senior leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for working with young children and a desire to grow in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide in-class support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on experience
* Work 1:1 with pupils with additional needs including EAL or SEND
* Assist in delivering small group phonics, reading and maths interventions
* Support positive behaviour, engagement and social development
* Help prepare resources, displays and classroom materials
* Collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to ensure every child is supported
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting
* A calm, nurturing and proactive approach to support
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* An understanding of EYFS/KS1/KS2 curriculum and child development
* An interest in progressing into HLTA, SEN support or teacher training
Location and Transport - Newham, East London
* Easily accessible from Plaistow, Upton Park and East Ham stations (District and H&C lines)
* Bus routes: 241, 262, 325, 473
* On-site staff parking available
