This local primary school, based near Bermondsey in Southwark, is looking for a graduate who is passionate about working with children and making a real positive impact on their development as they begin their academic journey. As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support academic and personal growth, helping and observing the young people in your care flourish.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support the academic progress of children in KS1 and KS2 across all subject areas
• Provide empathetic and personalised emotional support
• Enhance students’ skills by leading 1-1 and small group learning sessions
• Monitor progress in reading, writing and phonics
• Prepare resources and materials to support learning
• Support in both playtime and lunchtime duties when rota’ d
Who We’re Looking For
To succeed in your Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you should have:
• A graduate degree in any subject area, but graduates with Psychology, Education Studies, Sociology, Therapy or SEN Education are preferred
• A genuine interest in working with young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Supportive attitude with a genuine empathetic nature
• Some interest in perusing a career working with young people
• Experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
