Murphy is recruiting for a Fixed Term ( maternity cover) Assistant Buyer (Facilities Procurement) to work with the Murphy Facilities Procurement team at Stone Cross ( WA3 3JD)

The Assistant Buyer will be responsible for assisting in the provision of buying / purchasing functions within facilities, delivering best in class. Ensuring staff are safe and happy at work.
A day in the life of a Murphy Assistant Buyer (Facilities Procurement)
- Aiding the Facilities Procurement team by implementing orders, contracts and supplier performance monitoring by working alongside our Facilities Help Desk who raise requests for any works.
- Compliance with procurement process, procedures and company ethics
- Demonstrate best overall value for money in the procurement recommendations
- Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business in its dealings with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Contribution to Murphy leverage at every opportunity
- Locate suppliers, using existing or sourcing new providers using the various media, internet trade catalogue etc.
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to requisition originator.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Contact suppliers to ensure meeting delivery schedules, to expedite and to alleviate potential supply shortages and or missed deliveries.
- Prepare, maintain, and review facilities procurement files.
- Monitor status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
- Maintain and monitor Supplier performance evaluation.
- Continuously seek out and assess new supply chain members to meet demand
- Consistently monitor the market place to ensure awareness of pricing trends, risks and opportunities.
- Interaction with the wider facilities team including senior management and also key stakeholders for each location
- Potential travel to different offices managed by facilities
