Job Summary: Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone Job Responsibilities: Reception Receiving patients consulting with members of Practice team Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address. Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary Appointments Process appointment requests for today, future appointments from patients by telephone and in person. Deal with visit requests Administration This is not an administration role, but cover may be required from time to time First point of contact per patient queries. Direct access to Social Prescriber and Mental Health teams, Patient Participation Group To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures. To work in accordance of written protocols Filing post in medical records Photocopy as requested GPPA administration management (ensuring all clinical letters are scanned to notes and accurately coded) Photocopying medical records Preparing invoices Ordering of stock and stock control Dealing with private reports for patients Recall and monitoring of immunisations Recalls Computer Registrations of new patients Process patients change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of Practice area). Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice guidelines (if necessary in absence of prescription clerks). Scanning of correspondence and Read coding Telephone Have working knowledge of telephone system Other Tasks Any other tasks allocated by the management team
