We are looking for a highly experienced and committed professional to take on the role of Responsible Individual for our children’s residential home. This is a key leadership position that requires a deep understanding of the children’s residential care sector, a strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, and a proven ability to maintain high standards of care.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are either currently working as a Responsible Individual or have substantial experience as a Registered Manager with a track record of leading services rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight and leadership to ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and national standards
Support and guide the Registered Manager to maintain high-quality care and operational excellence
Monitor service performance, compliance, and safeguarding practices
Lead quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement
Represent the organisation in inspections, audits, and meetings with local authorities and external agencies
Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices reflect best practice in children’s residential care
Promote a child-centred approach across the service
Requirements:
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Registered Manager or Responsible Individual in a children’s residential setting
Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and sector best practices
Proven experience managing or overseeing homes rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’
At least 2 years’ experience working directly with Ofsted inspections
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) or equivalent – essential
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
This role is ideal for someone who is ready to take strategic responsibility for delivering high-quality care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people. If you meet the criteria and want to be part of a committed, professional team, we encourage you to apply.
