Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced and committed professional to take on the role of Responsible Individual for our children’s residential home. This is a key leadership position that requires a deep understanding of the children’s residential care sector, a strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, and a proven ability to maintain high standards of care.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are either currently working as a Responsible Individual or have substantial experience as a Registered Manager with a track record of leading services rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight and leadership to ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations and national standards

Support and guide the Registered Manager to maintain high-quality care and operational excellence

Monitor service performance, compliance, and safeguarding practices

Lead quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement

Represent the organisation in inspections, audits, and meetings with local authorities and external agencies

Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices reflect best practice in children’s residential care

Promote a child-centred approach across the service

Requirements:
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Registered Manager or Responsible Individual in a children’s residential setting

Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and sector best practices

Proven experience managing or overseeing homes rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’

At least 2 years’ experience working directly with Ofsted inspections

NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) or equivalent – essential

Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
