We are looking for a personal assistant for our client who is a happy and energetic 14-year-old boy with Autism, speech sound disorder, a learning disability and anxiety.
You will be supporting our client to get out and about and enjoy his time during the school holidays. This might be going to parks, out for walks, bowling or even sitting around the house gaming to build a rapport. Our client has a carer pass for the bus for getting about. Our client also has a season pass for deep sea world and M&D’s theme park which can be used also. As an important part of this role is building a rapport with our client, some of the time may be spent at home fostering this relationship initially.
Our client can talk away and give a lot of information so being patient, kind and understanding would be ideal to support him in his activities. Our client enjoys routine and his habits also. Due to our client’s anxiety and having little sense of danger someone who is observant and has a good level of fitness would also be ideal to insure his safeguarding. There is no personal care attached to this role.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
