Summary
We are looking for a personal assistant for our client who is a happy and energetic 9-year-old girl with Autism, learning disability, OCD and PICA.
You will be supporting our client to have some fun and ensure she is happy and safe. This will be mostly around the house or out to the woods nearby. Interacting with our client and making sure she is happy and safe are the main focus of this role. You will also be assisting with the bedtime routine when working in the evening also. Building a rapport with our client is incredibly important in this role so initially the time may be spent at home fostering this relationship.
Our client is mostly non-verbal but after spending some time with her you will learn her communication style. Our client enjoys having a routine and you will help to support this. Due to our clients PICA and having little sense of danger someone who is observant and has a good level of fitness would also be ideal to insure she is always safe and happy. There will be personal care in this role also.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of fun, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience in this type of role would be of benefit.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
