Are you a doctor interested in an exciting role in Oxfordshire delivering high quality mental health care in the community, with no on call commitment?
We have a 0.6 WTE Specialty Doctor post available in our Banbury adult community mental health team. You will join a well-staffed community team. The role is part time but we will be happy to consider applications from candidates interested in a full time role.

The Specialty Doctor Psychiatrist will be based at Banbury mental health team undertaking assessments and providing treatment to adults of working age and working with their families. The specialty doctor is expected to work closely with other members of the team. Key components of the role include:
• Providing Psychiatric expertise to the MDT
• Contributing to assessments, treatment planning and reviews
• Liaising with other services eg Primary care where appropriate.
• Supporting quality improvement and service developments

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria- General medical qualification
- Some or all parts of MRCPsych or equivalent
- Shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
- Attendance at MRCPsych course or equivalent Section 12 (2) approval: Mental Health Act, 1983
- Held appointments in psychiatry at SHO/CT or equivalent.Held appointments in psychiatry at SHO/CT or equivalent.
- Experience at ST or SD level or equivalent
- To exercise an intermediate level of clinical responsibility as delegated by the consultant in charge.
- Ability to work through a collaborative multi-disciplinary framework.
- Ability to contribute to effective team working. Capacity to prioritise workload.
- Must have good skills in communication with patients, relatives, colleagues and staff of other organisations. Good spoken and written English.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with a range of professionals.
- Must have interest in and commitment to people with mental health problems, and their carers.
- Interest in teaching
- Experience teaching medical undergraduates.
