Job Title: Qualified Social Worker (Children’s Services)
Job Type: Temporary

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join the Children Looked After Team in East Riding of Yorkshire. Based at Beverley Children’s Centre—with free onsite parking—you will work as part of the Early Help and Safeguarding Hub (EHaSH), a multi-disciplinary team providing a central point of contact for concerns about children and young people up to age 16.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for professionals and the public regarding concerns about children and young people.
Undertake assessments to determine appropriate responses and interventions.
Work collaboratively with other agencies and services to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
Promote integrated working, including Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings and the appointment of Lead Professionals.
Adhere to safeguarding procedures, policies, and statutory guidelines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case records and documentation.
Broker support services and monitor the progress of children and families receiving help.
Engage in continuous professional development and training as required.
Carry out other relevant duties in line with the role.
Essential Criteria:
Degree or Diploma in Social Work with current Social Work England (formerly HCPC) registration.
Significant experience working with vulnerable children and their families in a statutory social work setting.
Strong understanding of child protection procedures, risk assessment, and child development.
Familiarity with the assessment framework, early intervention strategies, and TAF processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proficiency in electronic case recording systems and general IT skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Integrity, professionalism, and a child-focused approach.
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience working in a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) or similar “front door” service.
Up-to-date knowledge of the Ofsted framework for the inspection of local authority safeguarding services.
Other Requirements:
The post requires spoken English fluency as per Section 42 of the Immigration Act 2016.
