Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trainee Associate Cardio-Respiratory Practitioners based in the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The new purpose built centre provides a range of respiratory and cardiac diagnostic investigations for adults. If you are scientifically minded with appropriate qualifications and have experience of working with the general public this is an ideal opportunity for you to train and develop alongside completing a Level 4 Cardio-Respiratory Apprenticeship. Training will be cross site between the CDC and at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.

These posts require individuals to be scientifically minded, enthusiastic, motivated and possess excellent communication and organisational skillsas well as a keen eye for detail, and the ability to accurately record and input information.

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given, however, the successful candidate should demonstrate an understanding of the role. Therefore all interested candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the departments at Glenfield Hospital.

These posts come with the opportunity to start on a Band 3 trainee post and with successful completion of the apprenticeship, relevant training and experience, it will allow you the opportunity to progress to the Band 4 Associate Practitioner role.

This is a developmental role; the post holder will be working towards progression to the post of Cardio-Respiratory Associate Practitioner at band 4, supported by successful completion of the Level 4 Cardio-Respiratory Apprenticeship and associated Competency Assessment Framework/s.

The trainee will work as part of a designated clinical team, delivering health care that focuses on the direct needs of the patient. They will carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities with an appropriate level of supervision and as delegated by registered practitioners until deemed competent.

To include spirometry, ECGs, FeNO, sleep studies, ECG holters, BP monitors

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
