Neurodevelopmental Practitioner (Autism & ADHD)- Band 4

This post is an integral part of the Neurodevelopmental Service, working across the school age and pre-school teams. You will be working with Children and Young People who may be waiting for an assessment or have had an assessment and diagnosis of Autism and/or ADHD along with their families.

The role of the Neurodevelopmental Practitioner requires a highly motivated and organised individual to organise, coordinate and support group intervention and lead on some of our Parent/Carer and Child/Young Person group sessions. You will be required to support families who are both waiting for assessment or have received an assessment and/or a diagnosis for their child by providing information and advice as appropriate. You will complete clinical work under the supervision of experienced clinicians within the team.
The role also includes a number of administrative duties including the collation, analysis and reporting of data both for assessments and interventions with in the team. You will also support the assessment process for our children and young people by collating information from home and school for the diagnostic clinicians.
The post sits within a wide multidisciplinary and multiagency team across Coventry and Warwickshire. You will be working within community settings such as schools, clinics and family homes. You will be supported by a team who have a strong commitment to clinical supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and offer proactive and innovative environment. The multi-disciplinary team includes Psychology, Speech and language Therapy, Psychiatry , Nursing and Occupational Therapy.

The post holder will work as part of the ‘Rise Service’ under the supervision of a qualified clinician.
The service is for children and young people experiencing difficulties with their mental health and emotional well-being as well as children and young people with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ASD and ADHD). Rise has a multi-professional and Multi agency workforce which works across Coventry and Warwickshire.
This post has been created to support the clinical pathways in the Neurodevelopmental Services. The pathways focus on group work for both parents and for the children and young people themselves. The post holder will co-lead groups with senior clinicians as well as work with the clinical coordinator in the team to organise and arrange the groups. A key part of the role is recording, analysing and reporting outcome data from the group to inform commissioners and service development.
The role requires excellent communication skills, a high level of empathy and the ability to manage a mix of clinical and administrative tasks with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
As travel is an integral part of this post, car owner/driver, or suitable alternative transport to enable you to undertake the job is essential.
