Lancaster University Information Systems Services (ISS) department is looking for a Senior Developer to join the Build team on a Fixed Term Contract.
This is a fixed term role until 31st March 2026.
The University is undergoing a significant digital transformation. We have a requirement for development resource to support the ambitious, institution wide Curriculum Transformation Programme. This multi-year strategic initiative is reshaping the design, delivery, and management of undergraduate and postgraduate education to ensure a distinctive, inclusive, and future-ready offering.
You will play a critical role in delivering complex, high-impact digital and systems change in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
You will bring a proven track record of managing large-scale IT projects, with the ability to adapt quickly, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively across academic and professional services teams. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of education at Lancaster University through the delivery of innovative, user-focused IT solutions.
You will have experience of:
- Experience of Integration between financial solutions, Unit4 and cloud-based systems.
- Contribute to technology planning and decision making
- Experience working within Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
- Complex system integrations with internal / external systems and data sources
- Responding to service requests and incidents
- Leading role in cloud-migration projects
- A degree, professional qualification or career experience in a relevant field
- Leading and supporting a team of developers.
- Experience of higher education research costing tools would be advantageous
The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. We would expect a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.
