About the role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Cover Supervisor for a full-time position in Leeds, starting September 2025. As a Cover Supervisor, you'll be responsible for managing a classroom in the short-term absence of the regular teacher. You will ensure students remain on task and engaged with pre-set work, while upholding behaviour expectations.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working with young people (desirable in a school setting)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent organisational and behaviour management skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Supervising classes during teacher absence
  • Ensuring students complete pre-set work
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Upholding school rules and expectations
  • Responding to questions about work tasks
  • Liaising with teaching staff regarding lesson plans
  • Providing feedback on student engagement
  • Covering a range of subjects across Key Stages
  • Maintaining a calm, productive classroom environment
  • Helping to implement school policies consistently
