Job Title: Practice Manager
Location: Wantage - minimum of 3 days per week onsite
⏰ Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Band: Circa £65,000, dependent on experience
Reporting Line: Reports to Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Role OverviewA senior leadership opportunity within a growing accountancy firm. The Practice Manager will oversee a local office with a strong focus on client service delivery, operational efficiency, and team development. This position is both strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone passionate about cultivating high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients across accounting, tax, and advisory functions
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members through structured support and guidance
- Oversee daily office operations including facilities and procurement
- Monitor local financial performance, ensuring accurate billing and budget adherence
- Collaborate with Client Portfolio Managers and support cross-site workflow
- Champion client service excellence in line with company standards
- Act as a regional representative and build relationships with external stakeholders
- Uphold compliance with internal systems and professional standards
✅ Skills & Experience Required
- Qualification with ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent (or relevant industry experience)
- Strong background in client portfolio management within an accountancy practice
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching capabilities
- Proven ability to manage operational logistics and team dynamics
- Commercial awareness with sound financial acumen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
