Summary
Transport Scheduler – Food Grade Tanker Department (Norwich)
Due to continued expansion, Turners (Soham) Ltd—one of the UK’s leading independently owned logistics companies—is seeking an experienced Transport Scheduler to join our Food Grade Tanker Department based in Norwich.
About the Role
You will be part of a dynamic operations team responsible for planning a fleet of over 100 company-owned vehicles operating across the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan collections and deliveries, ensuring adherence to schedules and optimal vehicle/driver utilisation.
• Schedule vehicles for servicing and MOTs in line with company requirements.
• Monitor driver progress and ensure timely deliveries and collections.
• Provide support to drivers on the road and liaise with customers when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all road transport legislation and Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and managers.
• Support administrative tasks including order entry and data input.
Working Hours
• Full-time, 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
• Rotating shifts: 07:00–16:00, 08:00–17:00, 09:00–18:00.
• Includes participation in an on-call rota.
• One-hour lunch break.
Candidate Requirements
• Proven experience in traffic planning.
• CPC qualification (desirable).
• Strong geographical knowledge.
• Background in logistics, distribution, or supply chain.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate.
