Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Housing Caretaker (LBR3) to join our Facilities & Environment team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall condition of residential properties within our portfolio to ensure a welcoming and secure environment for residents. As a Housing Caretaker, you will be responsible for conducting regular inspections of properties and communal areas, addressing maintenance issues, and collaborating with other team members to enhance living conditions. Your role will include the management of waste disposal and recycling programs, fostering community relationships by engaging with residents and addressing their inquiries, and reporting any health and safety hazards to ensure compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, coupled with a strong ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of residential properties and communal areas to identify maintenance needs.
Perform basic maintenance tasks, including minor repairs to facilities, fixtures, and equipment.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of communal spaces by cleaning hallways, stairwells, and outdoor areas.
Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Engage with residents to address their concerns and inquiries, enhancing community relations.
Report health and safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager promptly.
Assist in the organization of community events and programs to promote resident interaction and satisfaction.
Requirements
Proven experience in a caretaking or facilities maintenance role.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents and team members effectively.
Basic knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to housing and maintenance.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting and moving objects as needed.
Ability to work independently and take initiative when addressing maintenance issues.
A valid driver's license may be required to travel between properties as needed.

Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £15.19
Location: Little Ilford, East London
